Information for patients with varicose veins Private Medical Insurance

The Whiteley Clinic has made its reputation introducing cutting edge technologies and treatments to the UK, researching and auditing them to ensure our patients get the best and most effective treatments.

It is with great pride that we offer our patients the very best that is available in the UK.

Our results speak for themselves - our success in doing so can be seen by our:

The proof of our success is in our results - not one patient in 10 years has had ot come back to have another operation on the veins that we have operated on previously.

However, because our techniques are relatively new, some of our operations are considered non-standard by some health insurers. Consequently the following do not cover private medical treatment at The Whiteley Clinic:

- AXA PPP

- Simply Health

from Aug 2009

- CIGNA

Should you be insured with any of the above, then they will not pay for the treatment of veins at The Whiteley Clinic.

We are hopeful that in the future, we will be able to work with them to make sure that any patients covered by these insurers will be able to have their treatment costs paid.

We keep our charges very competitive compared with anyone offering the same standard of treatment.

At The Whiteley Clinic, our prices include:

  • Surgeons fees
  • Anaesthetic fees
  • Hospital fees

If you are not aware of this, then comparing our all inclusive fee with fees quoted by surgeon (who quote surgical fees only) or hospital (who often quote hospital fees and not professional fees for the surgeon and the anaesthetic) then we can appear expensive.

In addition, we do not charge any extra for recurrent varicose veins over primary varicose veins - we just charge for the procedures that are done.

As such, we have been very surprised that AXA PPP and a couple of other insurance companies have queried our costs and our treatments.

We are always happy to explain our treatments and treatments plans, to go through our charges and results, to anyone who is interested.

Until such time we will continue providing the same excellence we have always done, will continue our research and development making sure our patients have the very best diagnosis and treatment that is available, for the best price that we are able to provide, and will leave the door open to have discussions with all and any insurer at any time that they wish.
